Badugi Strategy

Unlike some other version of the poker games which are a high card games, Badugi is a low card game. To play Badugi, the minimum number of players is supposed to 2 and the maximum number of players is 6. Initially, you will feel a bit awkward or strange, if you are familiar with some other version of the poker games such as holdem. There are no any serious reasons behind this but the fact that Badugi is a low card game while Holdem is a high card game. Apart from this, Badugi is a draw game as well. This means that as the game is played out; all players can swap some of their cards with any cards from the stack. Basically, there are three types of table, limit, pot limit or half pot limit. A player is free to choose one from the three to begin playing the game at. Type of tables refers to the structure of betting of the Badugi.
At the beginning of each hand, each and every player get four cards face down from the dealer. The objective of the Badugi game is to have 4 cards which are neither suited nor paired, have the similar number or suit. If at all possible, the numbers should also be as low as it can be. 4 of H, 3 of C, 2 of S, A of D would be an instance of one of the best possible hands. If you get a hand like this, this hand will called the Badugi hand.
Like some other games of the poker, here in Badugi too, there are three draws or rounds during which a player can check/call, fold or raise. A player can also exchange their cards during each draw. This is an opportunity to get disposed of any similar cards and get new cards from the pack. Sometimes, it so happens that the deck runs short of cards, in such situation; all the discarded cards are reshuffled so that these cards can be used again.
The pre draw round is begun by the player to the left of the big blind. It is the player to the left of the small blind who generally places the Big Blind which is the min bet. And the player to the left of the dealer generally places the small blind which is half the amount of the big blind.
Those players who have not folded till the end of the game have to disclose their cards in the showdown. Sometimes, it so happens that at the showdown, if any paired cards are left in the hand, in that case, as a rule, it is mandatory to discard it. This is how, you have to play Badugi.
