Five Card Stud Strategy

Five Card Stud used to be a very popular poker game among soldiers during the Civil War sometime in the past. Since then its popularity has been coming down to the present time. Five Card Stud is almost like Five Card Draw. Once more the dealer deals out an open card. As usual another round of betting starts and carries on till the final call comes. Now the players move to the Fifth Street in Five Card Stud.

The Fifth Street is all about the final card. Generally this is an open card but it is played in some other variations as pocket card or a hole to make the game even more exciting. This variation gives rise to more improbability about speculating which of your opponents cards may be hole cards. This makes the betting full of added thrill and excitement.

However it is difficult to do any bluffing act in the stud games, it is so for the reason that it is so simple to make out what each player has as the top hand. The major drawback in the Five Card Stud is the fact it offers you only a few hands. Therefore it has been seen that Five Card Stud lacking in variations failed to interest people, and other games like Seven Card Stud and Holdem replaced it and became more popular.
