Seven Card Stud Strategy
Seven Card Stud is categorized among those poker games which are a bit difficult to learn and play. Texas Holdem or Omaha High / Low is much easier in comparison and can be learnt without taking any pain. However, it was Seven Card Stud which people liked to play a lot until Texas Holdem joined the poker. It doesnt mean that now Seven Card Stud is no more played. It is played but as a classic game of poker.
You can play Seven Card Stud in both forms: high and low. In case of High Seven Card Stud, that player is said to be the winner of the pot who has the highest hand. But the winnings have to be split with the lowest hand in case Seven Card Stud High/Low.
How to Play Seven Card Stud PokerAnte In Not more than 8 players can participate in this game of Seven Card Stud. At the outset every player has to put an ante which is a betting amount put in the pot to play the game. The amount of the ante is decided on the basis of the game, and whatever the amount be, it is put in the pot before the game starts.
Dealer 2 pocket cards are dealt out to each player by the dealer. One card of them which is facing up is known as a door card. In this game, you will have the provision of a bring-in which is a small bet which the player having the lowest card facing up has to place into the pot. The betting carries on around the table clockwise from that player. Here each one of the players has the choice of raising, folding or calling.
More cards A 4th card is dealt out to each player facing up after the bets have been placed by each player. The player having the highest cards begins the betting and it carries on from the left to the right around the table. Each player receives a 5th card facing up after the betting is finished. Yet again the player having the highest cards begins the betting. It is followed by the dealing out of a 6th card facing up and the same continues with the highest cards player again. Now comes the final dealing out of 7th card face down and then a final betting round also comes off.
The Great Finale The winner of the game and the pot is that player who becomes successful in making the best hand of poker with 5 cards from the 7. The player with the highest hand wins in the game of high/low seven card stud but the winning is split with the player having the lowest hand out of their 7 cards.
It is also possible in Seven Card Stud that cards left are not enough to finish the game. in this situation it so happens that rather than dealing a card to each player, the dealer will put the card in the centre and each player can use it as a community card. Taking all the inns and outs of the game into account, it can easily be said that Seven Card Stud is a great poker classic to enjoy.
